Manufacturing

This new multi-level 18,000 s.f. facility presses raw propellant into disks used to create automotive air bags. A computerized control system is required to monitor the propellant in the process. Support equipment systems include propellant dust collection, wet scrubbing, breathing air, and a remote central plant for temperature and humidity control. Walls, floors and ceiling/roof were constructed of 20″ and 24″ reinforced concrete with one wall consisting of a “frangible” wall system designed to release from the building if an overpressure situation occurs (Blast Resistant Construction)
